Hotels Vs Hostels

The allure of hotels is the idea of being catered to while staying in a fairly fancy establishment. However, the price to do such is often out of the range of young people who want adventure but without the huge price tag especially if they plan to stay somewhere for a couple of days to a week. And this is why many young ones prefer hostels.

Hostels

The thing about hostels is that they are often more dormitory-like in their design. This means that you can get more than three people staying in a room. And sometimes these people can be ones that you have not met before. Plus, it is often cheaper to go for a hostel than a hotel room.

Hostels can be viewed as being more community-based. Where you share bathrooms and the kitchen with other members staying in the same place as you. This is appealing to those that want to meet new people and interact with others from different parts of the world. They are more likely to make friends and connections while staying in a hostel.

Potential Downsides of a Hostel

While it all depends on the hostel and the people staying there, there is a certain level of caution when it comes to them. One of them is that you should stay on your toes if you have valuable items on you. You can place these in safekeeping, but still.

With a hotel room, you are in a private space with people that you came therewith. This means that they are less likely to steal from you. And a lot of hotels have safes in them if you need to use them. Speaking of being in a private space, you have more privacy in a hotel since you can have a room to yourself. While some hostels do offer private rooms, hotels have individual keys for every room in their building.

Plus, with a hotel, you have your own bathroom which can be a huge thing for certain people. Mostly the lack of waiting time to use it.

But, the draw of community, and the lower price, is what many young adventurers want since they can save money and spend it on stuff that is more important to them. And many hostels are very clean and well-kept, giving you peace of mind knowing that you are not staying in the dirt. But…

Why You Should Stay One Night in a Hotel

There is a certain “fanciness” when it comes to a hotel that you cannot really get in a hostel. While you do get your own privacy and can be catered to there is another allure to it. This is that you would be staying in a hotel room. It can be an escape from those around you and a chance to relax knowing that someone will clean up after you.

It is just a feeling you would have when you stay in a hotel room for just one night. Something that is a bit challenging to describe but it would be worth it. Hotels have catering on-site that you do not have to worry about and some have bars that you can chill in. Plus, many hotels on the high-end have spas and other awesome stuff such as a pool or a gym. Meaning you can stay in the building and do a lot of things.

However, even if you just want to stay in your hotel room and watch television by yourself, that is also great. The allure of being on your own and privacy is what some people, regardless of age, would want. Even if it is for one night to catch a breather.

While hotels do not really have as much of a community as hostels do it can be good and well to escape from the potential chaos of a hostel when it is full and during peak season. Even if it is for one evening.
